BCCI should consider easing gruelling schedule: KirmaniJuly 10th, 2008 - 11:48 pm ICT by IANS
Kolkata, July 10 (IANS) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should consider ways of easing the gruelling schedule that the players are subjected to, former stumper Syed Kirmani said here Thursday. “This thing (jampacked itinerary) was there for long. But because of (skipper M.S.) Dhoni it has come to the limelight,” Kirmani told reporters on the sidelines of a function.
He felt Sourav Ganguly should have been included in the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. “I think he should have been there,” he said.
The Indian selectors have kept Ganguly out of the list of 30 probables for the tournament.
Asked about the ‘youth policy’ being advocated by the board now, Kirmani said “Experience is also needed.”
