Bikaner, Feb 26 (IANS) Despite a few hiccups, Harinder Singh Bawa (co-driver Parminder) from Chandigarh continued to lead the field in the premium Xtreme category as the Maruti Suzuki 9th Desert Storm headed into its final stages here Friday.

With just two more legs remaining as the competitors head to Delhi where the 3,500-km rally finishes in the wee hours Sunday, Bawa is comfortably ahead of fellow-Chandigarh entry Sunny Sidhu (Rohit Michael) with nearly 10 minutes separating the two.

Meanwhile, the two-wheeler category witnessed the closest battle with the top three within nine minutes of one another. Jesdavid headed the field, but had to keep an eye on the rear-view mirror as R Nataraj and Bhalla Ram Suthar were within striking distance in second and third spots.
