London, Sep 12(ANI): A new study has found that Spanish football club Barcelona has more supporters than any other football team in Europe.
According to the study by Sport Market, Barcelona has 57.8 million fans throughout the continent, an increase of 13.7 million on a similar study carried out in 2009.
Barcelona’s nearest rival is Real Madrid, which has 31.3 million followers.
The study said that Madrid has lost 10 million supporters because of its failure to win any tournament in the past two years, Xinhua news agency reports.
Manchester United is third in the list with 30.6 million fans, followed by Chelsea with 21.4 million fans and Bayern Munich with 20.7 million. (ANI)
