November 19th, 2009 - 1:59 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattBaltimore Nov 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Baltimore Ravens have released kicker Steve Hauschka and signed Billy Cundiff into a contract with them. The Ravens signed Billy Cundiff to be their new kicker, the team announced Wednesday.
Ravens had to kick Hauschka out, because he missed four field goals this year, which also includes a crucial 36-yard attempt on Monday against the Cleveland Browns. This last missed goal was the point when the Ravens decided to get rid of him and they signed on Billy Cundiff. So Billy Cundiff comes just a day after the Ravens released Steve Hauschka.
Whereas on the other hand, Billy Cundiff, who is all of 29 years has made 66 of 89 career field goals which is an amazing 74.2 % and quiet impressive in itself. Till recently he has played for the Cleveland Browns, where he gave a very good performance when he was the replacement for the injured Phil Dawson. He converted all six field goal attempts into goals.
