Australian spinner McGain misses flight to South Africa

Sydney, Feb 18 (IANS) For uncapped Australian spinner Bryce McGain it was the worst possible start to the cricket tour of South Africa as he missed the team flight.
The Victorian leg-spinner overslept and it was his state mate Andrew McDonald who realised that McGain was missing at the airport Monday morning. McDonald rang-up McGain but by that time it was too late for the spinner to catch the flight.

A sheepish McGain made it to South Africa hours behind the team on another flight, and was at the Potchefstroom team hotel Tuesday morning.

McGain is yet to play a Test match and broke down on the eve of his Test debut in India last year. A Cricket Australia spokesman said that the team management will decide whether McGain would be punished.
