Hyderabad, Nov. 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Australia vs India 5th ODI turned in the favor of the Australian team and they once again gained lead in the series. The match was extremely exciting as the decision was pending till the last ball of the game. Australia batted first and set a huge target of 351 runs. From the first ball of their batting innings, the Indian team needed to bat under the pressure of such a huge score. In spite of that pressure the Indian cricket team, [who are known for their ability to chase runs], tried to play well. The veteran player of the team, Sachin Tendulkar was in a good form. He scored 175 runs for his team before he was caught out on a ball of C McKay. Sachin Tendulkar was declared as the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Though Sachin Tendulkar managed half the score made by the Australian team, his team fell short of three runs from the target score and lost the match. The Indian wickets started to fall rapidly after Sachin Tendulkar left the field. The batsmen desperately tried to score runs but got dismissed by the Australian bowlers. Apart from Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina could stand in front of the Australian bowling attack. He managed a score of 59 runs. Other players of the team could not put up an impressive performance in the game.
Mahinder Singh Dhoni, the captain of the Indian team, was disappointed after the defeat. He said that his team has lost the mental battle as they were also quite talented. Dhoni did not consider the inexperienced bowlers to be the reason for their loss in the game.
