Australia to give Rs.20 crore for development of grassroots sport in India
October 6th, 2010 - 12:34 pm ICT by ANINew Delhi, Oct 6 (ANI): Australia’s Minister for Sport Mark Arbib will launch the Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) here for grassroots sport-based development in India.
The ASOP India program is an Australian Government initiative that will contribute to India’s national development priorities through sport.
Rupees 20 crores will be spent over a period of five years.
India partner organisations will be represented at the launch and include Magic Bus, Special Olympics Bharat, Rashtriya Life Saving Society India, Goa Football Association and Naz Foundation (India) Trust.
Students and beneficiaries of the program will join Arbib at the launch and will demonstrate sporting activities. (ANI)
