Australia ropes in Saqlain to hone Hauritz’s spinning skills ahead of Ashes decider
August 18th, 2009 - 3:40 pm ICT by ANILondon, Aug. 18 (ANI): Australia has roped in former Pakistan off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq to work with Nathan Hauritz ahead of the fifth and final Ashes Test at the Oval.
Saqlain was seen giving some important tips and advice on slow bowling in local conditions to Hauritz on Monday, The News reports.
Sources said Saqlain, who had mastered the ‘doosra’, is also working with Hauritz over the deceptive delivery. Hauritz is said to have been experimenting the delivery in the nets in recent seasons.
With Clive Stephens, Surrey’s operations director, predicting turn during the last two days of the Oval Test starting Thursday, Hauritz stands a good chance to make his way into the final eleven.
Hauritz has grabbed ten wickets with an average of 32.10 in the three games he has played in the series. (ANI)
