Melbourne, Jan 17 (IANS) Australia Tuesday announced an unchanged 12-member squad for the fourth and final Test in Adelaide starting Jan 24 as they chase a 4-0 whitewash of India.

Having won their last two Test matches by an innings, Australia are high on spirits against the World No.2 Test team.

Off-spinner Nathan Lyon, who was dropped for the third Test in Perth, is likely to regain his place in the eleven and one from Australia’s impressive pace attack at Perth will be axed. Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris and Mitchell Starc — all are fighting for the three spots.

“A spin bowler has always been a priority in Test matches at Adelaide Oval and it is very likely that Nathan Lyon will replace one of the other bowlers in the final XI for the fourth Test,” chairman of selectors John Inverarity said.

“The fact the Australians were able to dismiss India in only 60 and 63 overs in Perth and the extra two rest days because the Test finished early has meant that there is reduced concern about excessive workloads for the fast bowlers. Michael Clarke’s team will be striving to maintain the momentum with a win in Adelaide.”

Out-of-form wicketkeeper Brad Haddin, 34, has also retained his place in the side.

Squad: Michael Clarke (captain), Brad Haddin (vice-captain), Ed Cowan, Ryan Harris, Ben Hilfenhaus, Mike Hussey, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting, Peter Siddle, Mitch Starc, David Warner.
