Australia hasn’t been able to sustain pressure on England: Watson
December 6th, 2010 - 12:26 pm ICT by ANIAdelaide, Dec 5(ANI): Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has admitted that his team’s bowlers must put in a better performance as a unit if they have to comeback against England in the ongoing Ashes series.
“The wickets have been fairly flat, but that’s no excuse. We’re skilled enough to make the most of what’s out there. We haven’t been able to sustain pressure for really long periods of time,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Watson, as saying.
“There’s no doubt about bowling - it’s physically demanding. If you’re out there for long periods of time, it gets harder and harder,” he added.
Watson further said that despite being the underdogs in the series so far, the Australian players don’t doubt their abilities.
“It’s more the situation we’ve got ourselves in. I never doubt our ability and our talent. They have been better than us, there’s no doubt,” the all-rounder said.
