Australia elect to bat against Pakistan

Shoaib Akhtar Colombo, March 19 (IANS) Australia won the toss and decided to bat against Pakistan in a World Cup Group A match at the R Premadasa Stadium here Saturday.

Australia are playing the same side that played against Canada earlier this week.

Pakistan left out fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar, who is set to retire after the World Cup.

The teams:
Australia: Ricky Ponting (captain), Brad Haddin (wicketkeeper), Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, Cameron White, Mike Hussey, Steven Smith, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Jason Krejza, Shaun Tait.

Pakistan: Shahid Afridi (captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Kamran Akmal (wicketkeeper), Asad Shafiq, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Abdur Rehman, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz.
