Atwal slips further to 68th at Sony Open

Honolulu, Jan 18 (IANS) Indian golfer Arjun Atwal went two-over 72 and slipped further down to tied 68th at the end of the third round of the Sony Open on the PGA Tour. Atwal, playing fully on the PGA Tour after a gap of two years, is now two-over 212 after his second successive over-par round here Saturday.

Atwal had bogeys on the second, fourth and seventh holes and turned in three-over. The 10th hole birdie was a bright spot and then he had eight pars in a row for 72.

The 2007 Masters champion Zach Johnson (200)grabbed the penultimate round lead with a four-under 66 and he was one ahead of David Toms (65), Shigeki Maruyama (68), Bryan Gay (68)and Nathan Green (69).
