Pebble Beach, California, Feb 15 (IANS) Arjun Atwal ruined a great day’s work by dropping three bogeys on his second nine, and dropped from overnight 27th to 33rd at the AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf.
Atwal, cruising towards a top-10 at three-under through first ten holes after starting on the tenth, had bogeys on second, third and seventh to drop to even par for the day before picking a closing birdie on ninth for a 71 Saturday.
Atwal birdied the 12th, 14th and 16th to turn in three-under.
The round of one-under 71 gave him a three-day total of four-under 212. Atwal had opened with a 68 on first day and then added a 73 on second day.
Long hitter Dustin Johnson was in the lead at 15-under for three days rounds of 65, 69
and 67. He is four clear of Mike Weir (69) who is at 11-under 205 while Retief Goosen (74), leader after two rounds is now third at 10-under 206.
