woods21Jan 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) US telecom giant AT&T did not have to pay a penny to sever ties with the disgraced golfer Tiger Woods following the revelation of his series of extramarital affairs, a recent report claims. Moreover, the telecom company did not even have to resort to legal help to end their sponsorship deal with the World’s No.1 golfer.

The news that AT&T did not have to shell out a single penny in order to distance itself with the defamed golfer has been reportedly validated by a company official. The telecoms giant, which ended its association with the pro golfer on new year’s ever, owed millions of dollars to Tiger Woods for ending the deal after the sex scandal involving the reputed sportsperson surfaced. Although AT&T owed large sums of money to Tiger Woods, reportedly the golfer and his agent IMG took the decision to release the sponsor without having the company pay anything for ending the contract.

Meanwhile, consulting company Accenture has revealed that it would be ending its contract with the disgraced golfer after his reputation was tarnished following the revelations about his philandering ways. However, valid information has not been available about whether Accenture had to pay any fees to walk out of the deal. At the same time, a sports agency official has implied that Tiger Woods and his agent ultimately decided to release the sponsors without any fees as probably they did want unhappy sponsors to stick around with them who were not ready to support him during the time of distress.
