November 27th, 2009 - 9:29 pm ICT by IANS Tell a Friend -

London, Nov 27 (IANS) India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles lost their last Group A match, but are already through to the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Finals.
Bhupathi and Knowles went down to top seeds Daniel Nestor of Cananda and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia 4-6, 6-7(9).

Bhupathi-Knowles are already through to the semifinals by winning their first two matches.

For defending champions Nestor and Zimonjic, it was first win in the tournament Thursday. The duo cannot qualify for the semifinals after losing two opening matches in Group A.

Nestor and Zimonjic broke the Indo-Bahamian pair for a 3-2 lead in the fist set and then bounced back from 2-6 down in the second set tie-break to close the match in 78 minutes.

“We have to look after ourselves and our games,” said Bhupathi. “If we execute like we have been the last three matches, I think we’ll have a good shot to win Saturday.”

India’s Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy bowed out Wednesday, losing to Mike and Bob, in their second consecutive loss in the tournament.
