‘Astrologer’ Warne rightly predicted tie for India-England encounter
February 28th, 2011 - 12:08 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Feb 28 (ANI): Australian spin legend Shane Warne has acknowledged a new career in astrology after he correctly tipped a tie in Sunday’s World Cup match between India and England.
Warne predicted the match result via Twitter and missed the opportunity to make some money for his prediction.
“I am taking a lottery ticket out this weekend!” Warne wrote on his Twitter account following the result.
“Can’t believe my prediction 7/8 hours ago was right … didn’t think it would happen but hey, not bad,” he wrote.
Before the match, Warne had predicted the outcome, The Herald Sun reports.
“Looking forward to the game between India and England, today should be a cracker. My prediction [is] a tie!” he wrote on Twitter.
In their Group B pool match, India batted first and amassed 338 before England tied the game off the final ball.
Warne’s tip has prompted the former star spinner to have a think about future matches.
“Thanks for all your nice replys (sic) re my prediction. Will think of some more for the rest of world cup - maybe have a flutter,” he wrote to his followers. (ANI)
