New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) Volleyball player Arunima Sinha, who lost a leg after being thrown out of a train by criminals, has been trained in beauty care by Shahnaz Husain.

Sinha was discharged Tuesday from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.

“Shahanaz arranged for Arunima to learn beauty care at AIIMS during her recuperation by sending a teacher regularly to the hospital to train her. She also received her beauty diploma,” a statement said.

“The professional beauty training will help Arunima start her own beauty salon in Lucknow, providing her the opportunity to be self-reliant and achieve financial independence,” it added.

Arunima said she was pushed out of the Padmawati Express while resisting a chain-snatching attempt April 12. Her left leg came under the wheels of another train passing on a parallel track.
