Asian Games squash: Indian women’s team get a bronze
November 24th, 2010 - 11:42 am ICT by IANSGuangzhou, Nov 24 (IANS) India’s women squash team ended with a bronze after losing 0-2 to a formidable Malaysian side in the semifinals at the Asian Games here Wednesday.
In the first match, India’s Anaka Alankamony lost 2-11, 4-11, 6-11 to Wee Wern Low in 22 minutes.
Top ranked Indian and World No. 37 Joshna Chinappa then went down to World No.1 Nicol David 4-11, 2-11 3-11 in 18 minutes.
Malaysia will play Hong Kong in the final. Hong Kong beat South Korea 2-0 in the other semifinal.
Later in the day, Indian men will take on Pakistan in the semifinal.
