Arturo Gatti Wife Arrest: Femme Fatale?

The unsettling news of the suspicious death of famed Canadian boxer Arturo Gatti on Saturday at a posh Brazilian resort, has taken a rather more disturbing turn yet, with his wife being named prime accused.
37 year-old Arturo Gatti, former IBF Junior Lightweight Champion and WBC Junior Welterweight Champion was found dead in a posh resort apartment in Porto de Galihnas, Brazil, where he was reportedly honeymooning with his second wife, 23 year-old former exotic dancer Amanda Gatti aka Amanda Carrina Barbosa Rodrigues and their 10 month-old son.
According to reports, while foul play was an obvious conjecture from the sight of the body, and Amanda and her baby remaining completely unharmed under the circumstances did in fact give rise to accusatory speculation, no formal allegation had been made at the time of preliminary investigation. However, the obvious gaps in Amanda’s statements at the time of her interrogation only sought to intensify suspicions which were already directed to her possible role in the incident. Following contradictory statements made by her, the Brazilian authorities had her taken into custody, and she was presented with a formal accusation, charging her of the murder of her husband Arturo Gatti.
In the event of the forensic analysis not being accessible at the moment, speculations as to the immediate cause of death abound, with the most common suppositions being either stabbing at the back of the head or bludgeoning of the same.
Either way, the apparent slaying of one of the gutsiest, and toughest boxers of professional boxing by his dancer wife, while being ironic in the extreme, is also an intriguing demonstration of the undeniable laws of ‘fatal attraction’.
