London, Aug.1 (ANI): Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger has not ruled out the extraordinary prospect of bringing back former club captain Patrick Vieira, 33, from Inter Milan.
Viera left Arsenal four years ago after a successful penalty in a shoot-out win over Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium. That goal gave the club its last trophy, the FA Cup.
According to the Daily Express, Tottenham also wants Vieira, but Wenger said the player wants to return to Arsenal, and knows full well the wealth of experience and winning mentality the France midfielder would provide to the Gunners’ young, but talented squad.
Wenger, who is in regular contact with Vieira, said: “Patrick is a great player, he’s a legend here. There is a football decision and there’s a psychological impact on a player of that stature that could come in.” (ANI)
