London, Feb 5(ANI): Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is confident that his team can overhaul current Premier League points’ table leaders Manchester United in the title race.
Arsenal is currently in the second spot in the points’ table with 49 points from 24 games, while United has 54 points from 24 games.
“I am confident Manchester United will drop points, 100 percent, because they have big games coming up - they have their own derby, they have games against Chelsea, other big games, so we will see what is going to happen,” the Daily Mail quoted Van Persie, as saying.
“We just have to stick to ourselves and I am confident we can fight until the end,” he added.
The 27-year-old insisted that Arsenal must deliver consistently and maintain their form with victory against Newcastle United on Saturday.
“We all know United’s schedule, we know Chelsea’s schedule, but the main thing is to just look at our own. We have got a tough opponent now at Newcastle away, and so we only need to look at that,” Van Persie said.
“It is vital to just keep looking at yourself,” he added. (ANI)
