London, Jan 13 (ANI): Arsenal is on the brink of strengthening its defences with the free transfer signing of veteran defender Sol Campbell, 35.
Campbell is ready to complete a sensational return to Arsenal after insisting that he is still good enough for Premier League football.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has taken a gamble on the centre-back, who will rejoin the club where he contributed to winning the Premier League title in 2004.
Campbell said: “I’ve missed it and I’ve a gut feeling this is the right move.”
“I do believe I can contribute. I really have my confidence and fitness back,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
Campbell played 45 minutes for Arsenal’s reserve side against West Ham United on Tuesday evening in what was his first appearance for any Gunners’ side since May 2006. (ANI)
