Arsenal needs to work harder to end trophy drought: Wenger

Arsenal London, Apr. 21 (ANI): Arsenal will have to work much harder to stay in the top four - let alone win a trophy, said Gunners coach-cum-manager Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners were hotly tipped to end their six-year silverware drought this season.

But after losing the Carling Cup final to Birmingham in February, Wenger’s men have seen their campaign collapse with exits from both the FA Cup and Champions League.

They still have an outside chance of overhauling Premier League leaders Manchester United yet Arsenal fans are well aware they are facing another trophy-less season, The Sun reports.

Wenger said: “It’s becoming harder every year to get into the top four because there are a lot of investors.

He added: “We’ve seen how Liverpool are not in the top four once again and they’ll try to back in next season.”

He said: “We always look to finish in the top four and then get as close as possible to challenge and win the Premier League. I still believe it’s essential that we give every drop of blood to do it.”(ANI)
