Apr 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Carolina Panthers had to pay a steep price for drafting Armanti Edwards, Appalachian State QB. However, the team management is sure that the player will live up to the expectation and prove his mettle in the coming days. Marty Hurney, the general manager of the Carolina Panthers said that within a year the player will turn to be an asset for the team. He will have to undergo training and develop himself as a wide receiver, he added. The general manager also said that the player has a lot of qualities that need to be cultivated.
As a matter of fact, Armanti Edwards excelled as a QB and won 2 national titles in his career which brought him much fame and money. The Carolina Panthers want him to grow as a returner and a receiver. The team management thinks that the player is extremely versatile and can fit into several positions without much hassle. The player is known for an intensity which is unseen in any players of his generation. The player is pretty upbeat about the new responsibilities coming his way and he is looking forward to his new role. However, he admitted that he will have to pick up a lot in the team.
Armanti Edwards may look undersized for a wide receiver or even a QB but his relatively small physique is misleading as the NFL veterans feel. Though he is below six feet and weighs only 187 pounds, he can give a lot of his contemporaries a run for their money owing to his agility and speed on the field.
