apoloVancouver, Canada, Feb 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Here is another addition of medals for the U.S. On Saturday night, Apolo Anton Ohno from America took away the bronze medal in the men’s 1,000 meter final race. This is the 7th time that Apolo Anton Ohno has grabbed the very prestigious Olympic medal. After the completion of his race, he held out 7 fingers above his head in order to show to the audience. The indication was that the Olympian has clinched the much coveted Olympic medal for the 7th time. With the win, he has created a record in the history of America.

While racing, he lost balance for a while which prevented him from claiming the 1st position. Initially the Canadian brothers Charles and Francios Hamelin were a little ahead of him while the Koreans Lee Ho-Suk and Lee Jung-Su were right behind him. Due to a minor stumble, Apolo Anton Ohno let the Koreans moved ahead of him and take the lead. Apolo Anton Ohno again made a comeback in the final lap. He left the two Canadians behind and forced his way and secured the 3rd position. Lee Jung-Su from Korea earned the much coveted gold medal [for the 2nd time in this year's Olympics] while Lee Ho-Suk bagged the silver medal.

After winning the bronze medal, Apolo Anton Ohno revealed to a source that if he had not made that ‘bad slip’ which slowed down his speed, he would have secured the 1st position. However, he reportedly said that he has no regrets. Apolo Anton Ohno is now called the “most decorated” American Winter Olympian by the United States Olympic Committee, as he has secured 7 medals.
