Another power snag at National Stadium
March 7th, 2010 - 1:25 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 6 (IANS) Some of the bulbs in one of the four floodlight towers went off for sometime during the crucial pool B match between India and England at the Hockey World Cup here Saturday.
It happened three days after a Pool A match between New Zealand and the Netherlands faced a power trip. The match was delayed by a couple of minutes even as authorities tried to save time by doing away with the customary playing of the national anthem before the start of the match.
On Saturday, the play was not stopped and lights were restored after some time.
“We have taken note of the power snag. But the match was not stopped as there was enough light to continue play,” International Hockey Federation (FIH) communication manager Arjen Meijer told IANS.
