Annual Peachtree Road RaceJuly 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Like every year this year as well many people are looking forward to become a part of the Peachtree Road Race 2010 that is held in Atlanta, Georgia annually. The 10 kilometer long race holds the proud place of being one of the largest races in the whole world and each and every year its popularity is searing up. The Peach tree road race each year is held on July 4, the Independence Day which this year has fallen on Sunday. This year the race will be competing with the Annual Memorial Race that is being held in Colorado.

However, the fact that the race has clashed with Colorado’s Annual Memorial Race, seems to have little impact on the popularity or the participation in the race. This year as well many people failed to make it to the race registration as the sponsors have set the limit of the runners to 55,000. This year 55,000 walkers and runners will be participating in the race from all over the world and for the second consecutive year, part of the registration for the race was done online. Some news rules for the race registration and participation have been introduced this year. Like every year this year as well the Atlanta Journal Constitution is sponsoring the famous Peachtree T-shirts that will be gifted to the runners who would be able to complete the race.

However, to provide a track of 10 kilometers to the runners many roads will be closed on Sunday during the race hours. Roads along Buckhead and Midtown will be closed on Sunday morning.
