green2Oakland, California, June 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American boxer Andre Ward registered a stunning victory against Allan Green on Saturday at the Oracle Arena to reserve his place in the semi-finals of the Super Six series. The 26 year old boxer gave his best shot which enabled him to win the bout with a unanimous decision by winning every round on the cards of all the three judges.

With Saturday’s win, Andre Ward guaranteed a spot in the final four of the tournament as this was his second win that helped him to improve his record to 22-0. The large number of crowd gathered at the Oracle Arena cheered loudly and gave a boisterous applause as Andre Ward dominated his opponent almost throughout the fight. Performing at his hometown, the boxer could successfully win all the rounds in the scorecards of the judges to defend his WBA super middleweight title and ensure his position in the Super Six Boxing Classic.

After a rather slow beginning, Andre Ward soon managed to send his opponent to the ropes where he remained for much of the bout. Although Andre Ward was in control of the bout almost throughout the fight, in the seventh round he delivered few heavy shots when the referee stepped in and asked his Allan Green if he was fit to continue the bout. However, the 32 year old American lasted for all 12 rounds before being defeated by his opponent.

This was the first defeat for Allan Green after he replaced Jermain Taylor in the tournament earlier this year. However, his chances in the tournament are not yet over as he can advance to the semi-finals of Super six series by beating Mikkel Kessler in the third round.
