Andre DawsonJuly 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Andre Dawson’s fans may have waited for this day their entire life but the star will finally be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame On Sunday. A day after the induction ceremony the former stars will also get together at the same venue for a round table of the ‘Legends Series’. The legendary player had earlier argued that during the induction ceremony he should be allowed to wear the cap of the Cubs instead of the Expos. The MLB has however asked him to wear the Montreal Expos cap because he played for 11 seasons in the team.

The former star said that the cap was not a big deal and he is just happy to be inducted in the Hall Of Fame. He was known as The Hawk for his fearlessness and speed during his game. He was selected for induction into the Hall in the ninth year of his eligibility as more than 75% of the member of the Baseball Writers Association of America voted in his favor.

With a career spanning 20 years Andre Dawson was one of the greatest veterans of the game. He has hit a total of 438 home-runs with 1591 runs. He has also won four Silver Slugger awards in his long and illustrious career. Van Horne has described him as a kind of talent that could take over the game. He said that sometimes it was his fielding, sometimes his bat and even his base running could change the course of the game. Andre Dawson finished his career with two seasons for Miami.
