Aug 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Saturday night, it seemed that the reign of Anderson Silva in the middleweight category will ultimately come to an end but the fighter managed to wear the UFC title once more after defeating Chael Sonnen in the last minute. Although Chael Sonnen dominated the ring from the very beginning and did whatever he could to dominate the king of the middleweight, the latter won the game in a blink of a second with his brilliant last minutes triangle choke that almost took the breath out of Chael Sonnen.

From the very first round it was Chael Sonnen who came forward with aggressive moves and punches. Anderson Silva seemed to be lacking in energy and tactics in the first four rounds during which Chael Sonnen left no place for attack and battered his opponent red and blue with his powerful punches. In all the four round Chael Sonnen was able to have an early takedown on Anderson Silva. At some points it seemed that Anderson Silva was on the verge of giving up. However, it was in the late fifth round that the defending champion pounced back to hold on to his beloved title.

Like the previous four rounds, in the fifth round as well Chael Sonnen showed aggression, but towards the end of the fifth round Anderson Silva got the opportunity to slip his legs around his opponent’s neck and left arm and quickly went for the triangle choke. He then followed it up with an armbar that left no other option for Chael Sonnen than to tap. The win is the 12th in a row for Anderson Silva who remains undefeated since 2006.
