jhanaLas Vegas, Feb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Brazilian mixed martial arts fighter Anderson Silva proved yet again why he is often regarded at the very best pound-for-pound fighter as he thrashed Vitor Belfort in the very first round to be declared as the big winner of UFC 126. The much-anticipated showdown which took place at the Mandalay Bat Events Center in Las Vegas turned out to be a delightful watch for the people gathered at the venue as the Brazilian fighter delivered a mighty left front kick that landed on his opponent’s face that knocked down the former UFC champion.

With the potent left kick already putting Vitor Belfort out of his elements, Anderson Silva had to resort to only a few more maneuvers from there on to completely dominate his opponent and emerge victorious. The victory against Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 at a packed venue on Saturday night, must have been all the more sweet for the Brazilian fighter as he not only successfully defended his UFC middleweight title but also recorded his 13th consecutive victory. With Anderson Silva defending the middleweight title for nearly five years now, UFC fans would be surely looking forward to his clash with welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in the near future.

Meanwhile, Dana White has kept the hopes of the UFC fans alive as the UFC President has reiterated that if Georges St-Pierre is able to register victory against Jake Shields in the showdown slated to take place in April, then Anderson Silva might be seen facing off with the Canadian mixed martial artist sometime in the future at a major event.
