Anderson Silva Beats Griffin At UFC 101

The Brazilian martial art fighter Anderson Silva, who is a black belt in Judo and Jiu-Jitsu and has an innate knowledge of The Muay Thai fighting art, put up a brilliant performance against opponent Forest Griffin at the UFC. This was his 10th straight win. He won the appreciation of 11000 people in Mandalay Bay, Philadelphia on his victory. The audience were witness to some brilliant punches from Silva and the match saw a knockout within the first round, proving that the 34 year old Silva is unstoppable.
He is rather a humble person in real life and acknowledges the fact that he could always meet someone better than him on a challenge. Silva (25-4) showed a tussle of testosterone infused raucous standout against Griffin (16-6). Prior to the UFC 101 match, the UFC middleweight champion joked about hoping not to have serious problems at the fight, to an interviewer Marcelo Alonso, as his opponent was a light-heavyweight champion.
Prior to this he has fought in two matches, which he won against Osmar Luiz Teixeira and Julio Cesar De Jesus.
In the match on Saturday, he waited patiently and then came up with his fast and devastating punches to take down his opponent. He later knocked down Griffin two times and the match saw Griffin losing hopelessly after being struck by a series of uninterrupted blows. The defeat of Griffin saw him walking out of public eye even before the result was announced.After Silva’s victory, BJ Penn came into action defending his lightweight title against Kenny Florian.
Silva and Penn are often grouped together and associated with improving the image of the Broad Street Bullies in Pennsylvania’s major. He has also appeared in the movie Never Surrender by Lions Gate Entertainment.
