Anderson likely to be fit for fourth Test
August 17th, 2011 - 6:05 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 17 (IANS) England fast bowler James Anderson is likely to be fit for the fourth Test against India after coming through a net session here Wednesday.
Anderson did not bowl at the nets Tuesday but bowled for half an hour Wednesday without apparent discomfort. The bowler had complained of stiffness in his right thigh after England’s victory at Edgbaston last week.
England had called Graham Onions as a cover for the fourth Test at The Oval.
Anderson was involved in team fielding drills Tuesday but Wednesday he bowled at near-full pace, before taking part in a short session of sprint training, the Guardian reported.
England will be looking for a 4-0 whitewash in the final Test, beginning Thursday.
