Ancelotti threatens to act if off-field problems affect Blues’ performances

London, Feb 13(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has warned his Premier League title chasing players that if their performances dip because of off-field problems, he will drop them.

“When I see that a player’s personal life is affecting their professional life, I will act. When that happens, it’s a problem for me,’ The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

Skipper John Terry Terry is out of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Cardiff, as he is in Dubai for crunch talks with his wife following stories about his romps with former team-mate Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend.

However, Ancelotti insisted that he gave Terry time off because he was tired, not because of his marital problems or his display at Everton on Wednesday.

Terry was at fault for both Luis Saha goals in the Londoners’ 2-1 defeat.”It didn’t affect us at Everton - we played badly and deserved to lose. I haven’t spoken to Terry since he left. I spoke with him after Everton to tell him to rest for a few days. It was my decision to give him time off,” Ancelotti said.”He’ll come back stronger. He needed to have some days recovery,” he added.
