Ancelotti says he’s ‘going to stay at Chelsea until 2012′
December 17th, 2010 - 4:11 pm ICT by ANILondon, Dec 17(ANI): Carlo Ancelotti has refuted suggestions that he is thinking of quitting as the manager of Chelsea on the pretext that he is no longer in control of the team.
According to sources, Ancelotti was still unhappy about the dismissal of assistant coach Ray Wilkins, and was worried by splits in the camp.
However, Ancelotti said: “I’m going to stay at Chelsea until 2012. The changing-room relations are good.”
“I haven’t spoken to club owner Roman Abramovich about my contract yet, but now is the moment to get Chelsea back into gear in the Premier League,” he added.
Ancelotti also denied that Wilkins’ departure had affected his or the team’s spirit.
The club’s board had replaced Wilkins, who was close to Ancelotti, last month with Michael Emenalo on the instigation of Russian owner Roman Abramovich.
“Things are going well with the new No 2. It’s the first time he’s done this job, but it’s going smoothly,” the Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying. (ANI)
