Ancelotti fancies succeeding Capello as England manager
October 17th, 2010 - 2:40 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 17(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he would be willing to succeed England manager Fabio Capello in future.
Capello, whose position has come under increased scrutiny after Tuesday’s 0-0 draw against Montenegro, is contracted until after the Euro 2012.
When asked if he is eyeing the England manager’s job after achieving all his domestic ambitions, Ancelotti said: “Why not?”
“I would like to do it in the future, to have this kind of experience. I have never been the coach of a national team. To manage the national team and manage a club is different,” the Telegraph quoted Ancelotti, as saying.
“I don’t know if Harry Redknapp is agreeing. Redknapp doesn’t like foreign coaches for the national team, but if you ask me, I say Why not?” he added.
Concerning the appointment of a foreign manager and the language barriers that may come with it, Ancelotti said: Language is very important, but it is not the most important thing.”
“Football has an international language. Technically, it is very easy to speak to the players. But it’s more difficult to motivate them in a different language, to show emotion when you speak. You need to learn quickly,” he added. (ANI)
