Fernando Torres London, Mar 17 (ANI): Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has asked his players to sharpen up their shooting skills if they want to win the Champions League.

Chelsea is in quarterfinal draw, but ace striker Fernando Torres, who started on the bench last night, failed to score again.

Chelsea made, and missed, 24 attempts on goal. Ancelotti said: “We have to improve. We had so many chances to score.”

“The only thing we missed tonight was scoring. There was a good attitude, good spirit, good speed on the counter-attack, a lot of opportunities, but we didn’t score,” The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

“We must score when we need to. We need to be more precise in front of goal. The general performance was good. We shot 24 times at goal - so what more could we do?

“The team’s fresh and we can improve. I think we have a squad that’s strong enough to win it,” he said.

Striker Torres came in the 68th minute in place of Nicolas Anelka, but failed to score his first goal for Chelsea after six games since his 50 million pounds move from Liverpool.

Ancelotti said he relegated the Spaniard to the bench to keep him fresh to start in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.

“I decide my strikers game by game and who is fit. We have a fantastic squad. The players not involved from the beginning tonight will play on Sunday. If we want to achieve something, we’ll need all the players with good motivation.

“Torres played well. He wanted to score and had some opportunities, some good movement,” Ancelotti said. (ANI)
