The top three finishers in the championship restricted to competitors in the age group of 15-24 years and who have not raced or won a race in the last two years, will earn a drive in the Formula LGG Swift Class in the JK Tyre National Racing Championship later this year.
The Junior Cup serves as an entry-level event for young enthusiasts for a fee of Rs 8,000 per race and they will be driving the Formula Maruti (800cc) single-seater cars.
Sanjay Sharma, Head, Motorsports, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, said: “At JK Tyre, we have been relentlessly working to make motorsports affordable for the Indian masses.
“Our Junior Cup programme is one such initiative where we promote budding racing enthusiasts at a very insignificant cost.
