Amir Khan insists he’s not behind Jordan’s marriage split
January 16th, 2011 - 1:08 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 16 (ANI): Boxer Amir Khan has dismissed claims that he is the reason for Katie Price’s split from Alex Reid.
The world champ came out punching yesterday and hit out at the “twisted” rumours publicly on Twitter that Katie had dumped Alex for him.
“I am no marriage-wrecker,” the Daily Star quoted WBA light-welterweight champ as saying.
“Stories about me and Katie Price are not true! I didn’t even see or meet her in Vegas!
“So you all know, papers say it’s because of me, Katie Price split up with Alex.
“That’s not true. I got nothing to do with it. We just friends, I can’t believe how everything’s twisted!” he added.
Amir was first linked to Katie last summer when they enjoyed a cosy dinner at a film premiere.
They then messaged each other several times on Twitter before Katie jetted out to Las Vegas to watch his fight in December.
The trip fuelled rumours about the pair, especially as it came at the height of her marriage problems with husband of 11 months Alex.
Kate even tweeted to her fans that she had enjoyed a night out with Amir’s family, saying: “AMAZING he did so well and he has such a great family, so supportive.”
Alex was said to be furious at the cosy pictures of Amir and Katie, taken last year.
But yesterday Amir went on to support Alex, saying: “I like Alex, he’s a nice guy. And they made a great couple.”
The boxer then confessed to Jordan writing a message directly to her page.
“It’s mad how people twist things. I’m an innocent Bolton lad,” he told Jordan. (ANI)
