Amir Khan inks new contract with Golden Boy Promotions
April 20th, 2011 - 5:39 pm ICT by ANILondon, Apr 20(ANI): British boxing champ Amir Khan has signed a new four-fight contract extension with Los Angeles-based Golden Boy Promotions.
According to the Sun, the deal was agreed with Oscar De La Hoya’s company before Khan stopped Paul McCloskey to retain his WBA light-welterweight crown on Saturday.
“We’ve been negotiating the extension and last week we signed it,” Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer said.
“We agreed awhile ago that we would want to continue to work together. It took time while we were negotiating the best possible deal for everyone,” he added.
The 24-year-old’s next fight could be against WBC and WBO light-welterweight king Timothy Bradley in July. (ANI)
