stuartJune 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The June 12 tie between USA and England ended in a draw thanks to some goal-keeping error from the England goal keeper and a resilient performance by the American defense.

Stuart Holden became a hot search after he came on in the last few minutes of the game for Josmer Volmy ‘Jozy’ Altidore in search of miracles. Stuart Holden who has always maintained his personal rivalry against the English team has finally got the long awaited and sweet revenge.

Stuart Holden and his family moved to Texas when he was 10. Till that age he had grown up supporting Scotland and therefore England was always the big rival for him.

The match that was one of the most highly anticipated in the tournament so far had clear favorites in England who exceeded the US team in terms of experience and skill.

The English team could maintain the lead for a mere four minutes as the English defense showed a temporary hole that the American forward Clint Dempsey chanced upon. Clint Dempsey went for a wild shot that went straight to English goalkeeper.

Steven Gerrard was the first to go past the disorganized English defense before Clint Dempsey found the net. Though the match ended in a draw, the US fans will know that it is equivalent to a win. Now the USA have drawn against the toughest team in the group and have an easy chance of easily going into the second round.

The second half of the game saw only failed attempts from both sides.

Though the English dominated the American half of the field and had a number of shots on target, the strikers lacked the finishing under Captain Steven Gerrard.
