yankees_spanAll hell broke loose at the Yankees dugout on their Tuesdays match against the Toronto Blue Jays that witnessed the former losing 10-4 to the Toronto Blue Jays. The loss seemed to be an excuse as violence took over the situation, thereby leaving the Yankees manager Joe Girardi with an injured ear and a swollen eye and Blue Jays reliever Jesse Carlson with a bruise on his forehead.

The alleged brawl that left many with bruises took place during the eight innings of the match. Although order was quickly restored, but a fight broke out soon after. Sources say that Carlson had reportedly threw a pitch behind Jorge Posada’s back, but the Toronto Blue Jays’ reliever blamed Posada for igniting the fight by coming in contact with him after crossing the plate during Toronto’s 10-4 victory over the Yankees. Thereafter, Carlson shouted back at Posada who came rushing back to the player thereby igniting a mammoth fight that both the teams would find it hard to forget. The two antagonists scuffled to the field as the benches were evacuated. Fights broke out between the homeplate and the Yankees dugout. Joe Girardi, the Yankees coach was found in the middle of the brawl and was later rescues as he suffered injuries on his forehead and ear.

Post match and after the alleged brawl, Posada condemned of what had happened during the match. “It’s a tough example. I don’t want my kids to see that. Somebody could have gotten hurt. I am glad that nobody did,” said Posada. On the other hand, Carlson blamed Posada for inciting the violence as he said, “When Posada came by, he just threw a shoulder right into my shoulder and the umpire saw it. During his at-bat as well as every pitch he was fouling off, he kept staring at me. And once he did that after crossing the plate, I was like ‘Let’s go.’”
