Alex backs red card for Gary Neville

London, Oct. 28 (ANI): Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson has insisted the referee got it right when he handed out a red card to one of the club’s key strikers Gary Neville.
Chris Foy showed Gary Neville a red card for following through high on Adam Hammill after 63 minutes in a Carling Cup pre-quarter-final match.
Fergie backed the Merseyside official, in total contrast to his recent spats with Alan Wiley and Andre Marriner.
“I’ve just seen the sending off and Gary did follow through with the tackle and caught the player. It was not high, just above the ankle. But in the present climate, I would say that the referee was probably correct,” The Sun quoted Fergie, as saying. (ANI)
