Sep 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Everyone was waiting for the exciting football match between Alabama Crimson Tide and Arkansas Razorbacks, which started right at 3:30 ET, in Razorback Stadium in Fayettvile, Arkansas. Its outcome was however not that unpredictable. Alabama Crimson Tide, which ranks number one on NCAA, won the match, as most of the football followers expected. The winners retained its position under cut-throat pressure.
Although Arkansas Razorbacks held the 10th position in the list, it offered the Alabama Crimson Tide a very tough competition with a final score of 24-20, making this match the toughest game in the history of NCAA. Alabama Crimson Tide ran for more than 157 yards, scoring a 1-yard run with 3:18 to play. The best friction on the part of the Arkansas was offered by Ryan Mallett, who struck Alabama with a 43-yard touchdown pass to receiver Ronnie Wingo. He also contributed in giving his team a 17-7 halftime lead. But things started favoring Alabama, from the last quarter of the match, when one throw gave Alabama the final lead of 24-20, while the other helped them run out the clock. Ryan Mallet completed 357 yards, with two total TDs and three picks. While Mark Ingram of the Alabama Crimson Tide was worth noticing, despite his severe injury last week. He ran 48 yards and finished with 151 yards with two touchdowns on just nine rushes. The other good performer from the Alabama team was Trent Richardson, who added another 61 yards on seven carries.
With this match, the Arkansas Razorback became the first up with a final score of 3-0, 1-0. It has been analyzed that despite the strikingly good performance on the part of the Arkansas, the team was defeated because it could not slow down the powerful Alabama ground game. If it could do that, then victory could not be easier for the team.
