Islamabad, Nov.22 (ANI): Controversial Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar’s close doctor friend, Tauseef Razaq, said the fast bowler had always consulted him before any medical treatment, but, didn’t heed his advise against going for liposuction surgery.
“I was against Shoaib undergoing liposuction surgery, as it was not needed. But he acted against my advice.” The Nation quoted Dr.Razaq, as saying.
He also rubbished Pakistan Sports Board Director General Dr. Waqar Ahmed’s view on Akhtar’s fitness.
Dr. Ahmed had suggested that it would take Akhtar three to five months before he starts playing once again.
“Shoaib is likely to be match-fit within four weeks time,” Dr.Razaq countered.
Sources said the Rawalpindi Express has lost about 12-13 kgs of weight after tliposuction surgery.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is cross over the surgery, saying Akhtar should have informed it before undergoing the operation.
A PCB official said being centrally contracted player, the fast bowler should have informed it about the surgery.(ANI)
