Aircel-PGTI Players Championship at Tollygunge Club

Kolkata, Jan 30 (IANS) The Aircel-Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has announced the PGTI Players Championship at the Tollygunge Golf Club February 2-5.
The Pro-Am is scheduled for Jan 31.

The tournament, carrying a total prize purse of Rs. 40 lakh, will have an impressive line-up including Mukesh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Shamim Khan, Feroz Ali Mollah, Vijay Kumar, Harendra Gupta, Amandeep Johl, Harmeet Kahlon and Rahul Ganapathy.

Daljit Singh, captain of the Tollygunge Club, said: “We are delighted to stage the Aircel-PGTI Players Championship in association with the PGTI. The course is in great condition and we hope to witness some exhilarating golf over the next few days. PGTI’s initiative will certainly provide a boost to professional golf in Kolkata.”

Established in 1895, the Tollygunge Club, often referred to as the Tolly, is home to a magnificent 18-hole course. This course is also known as the Garden Course as it is lush green, challenging and features a number of water hazards. The tree-lined fairways are wide while the greens are small, forcing the players to be accurate with their iron-play.
