“There will be a demonstration of paragliding, para mountaineering and hot air balloons during this year’s Durga Puja at the Maidan,” state Tourism Minister Manabendra Mukherjee said reporters here.
The Maidan is a vast stretch of greenery in the central part of the city and is often described as the lungs of the metropolis.
The state government has roped in the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute for deciding the infrastructural requirements and activities for adventure sports.
The tourism ministry would provide the funds.
