Advani, Sethi win in time format
August 24th, 2010 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANSPune, Aug 24 (IANS) Pankaj Advani and Geet Sethi started afresh after their loss in the point-format with a win each in the time-format of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) World Billiards Championships here Tuesday.
Defending Champion Advani had earlier suffered a 0-6 loss to Mike Russell of England in the final of the point-format Monday.
Advani left the loss behind as he defeated Nay Thway Oo of Myanmar 1481-636 in his only match of the day. Geet Sethi also started his campaign with a 1309-724 victory over Kyaw Oo of Myanmar 1309-724.
In other matches, Mike Russell was at his splendind best a day after he won the world crown in the point format. He beat Indian Rupesh Shah 1269-856 in the first match and later thrashed Chul Ho Hwang of Korea 1339-195.
Bhaskar Balachandra, Ashok Shandilya and Devendra Joshi were the other Indians to win their opening day matches.
