Nov 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The victory of the Florida State Seminoles over Florida Gators made the former team’s day. The victory paved the path for the team to face the Virginia Tech for the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship, which has been scheduled for next week. Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Virginia Cavaliers, with a grand score of 37-7 to qualify for Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.
Quarterback Christian Ponder of Florida State Seminoles said their victory over the Florida rivals was indeed very sweet. It was all more delightful because in the same year their team defeated Miami and Gators and then made its way to ACC. Things cannot get sweeter for the team, according to Christian Ponder. Receiver Rodney Smith was extremely satisfied with his performance, with four receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown. His 39-yard hitch-and-go almost took away all hopes from the opponent and the touchdown gave his team a 17-7 lead.
On the other hand, the Virginia Tech Hokies are simultaneously delighted to make it to the ACC. The team had a marvelous victory with four rushing touchdowns and 201 rushing yards. They registered four sacks and held Virginia’s offense to 291 total yards. They could have also pitched a shut out, had they not pulled their defense in the former part of the fourth quarter. The team won with 30 extra points. Virginia Tech Coach Mike London was extremely overwhelmed with the victory and said that this is what he and his team aspires to be. They want to win games and compete for championship.
The AC match will take place at Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, NC). This is the second time that Florida State will be appearing for this particular match, while Virginia Tech will take part in it for the fourth time.
