Abu Dhabi to get women’s sports club
January 20th, 2011 - 11:04 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Jan 20 (IANS/WAM) The Abu Dhabi authority has given its nod for the construction of a sports clubs especially for women.The proposed Al-Ain Sports Club for Women will encourage women to practice sports in an ideal and suitable environment.
The decision was taken in an executive committee meeting held Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mohammed Ahmed Al Bawardi, the Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Abu Dhabi is one of the seven emirates of the the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It allows equal opportunity of education and employment for women and is considered relatively moderate as compared to other emirates of the Muslim-dominated region.
